脇田和 Kazu WAKITA （1908-2005）東京の青山生まれ。
15歳の時ドイツに留学しベルリン国立美術学校で学んだ。帰国後は光風会や帝展に出品し、昭和11年、新制作派協会の創立に参加、東京芸術大学助教授となり、1970年まで同校で教授を務める。戦後は新制作協会展をはじめ、 サンパウロビエンナーレやサロン・ド・メ、ベネチアビエンナーレなどの国際展に出品して、高い評価を受ける。
1991年、軽井沢に脇田美術館開館。勲四等旭日小綬章。
1998年、文化功労者。
所蔵 国立近代美術館、茨城県近代美術館など
