田島征三 Seizo Tashima 1940年生まれ。
絵本作家、美術家。 絵本『ふるやのもり』でのデビューから半世紀以上、第一線で活躍し続け、生命力あふれる革新的な作品を制作。
国内外の数々の絵本賞を受賞。 美術家としても活動し、ジャンルに縛られない独自の創作世界を切り拓いてきた。
80歳を超えた今も、絵本の概念を打ち破る表現やアートの可能性に挑み続けている。
