1958年7月15日　東京生まれ　
法政大学社会学部卒
美学校・絵文字工房にて赤瀬川原平に師事

1981年　美学校の同期生・泉晴紀と組んで「泉昌之」名でガロ誌に短編マンガ「夜行」を持ち込み入選
　　　　マンガ家としてデビュー
1990年　実弟の久住卓也とマンガユニット「ＱＢＢ」を組む
1999年　ＱＢＢで発表した「中学生日記」（青林工藝舎）で、第45回文藝春秋漫画賞を受賞。
2004年　谷口ジローさんと組んで描いたマンガ「孤独のグルメ」（扶桑社文庫）が イタリアで翻訳出版さる
2005年　フランス・スペイン・イギリス・ブラジルでも翻訳が決定

80年から90年代はTV出演も、現在はキャラクターデザインやホームページ制作の仕事をこなしながら講師として働き、作詞の提供、ライブ活動と何でもこなすマルチスト漫画家。

・横浜美術短大『マンガ論』客員講師
